Critique

Amber : In her first picture, I really like her use of lines to compose the picture. Her use of the tree with the subject was really well done because it gives it a very balanced composition. I like the way she used the shadow to accent the subject.   Everything was proper focus and framed the subject nicely. To change this photo I would have lightened up the shadows and exaggerated the colors more. He doesn’t seem very engaged in the camera. I would adjust the use of light in this picture by maybe him in a more shady area.

In the Second picture of Amber’s I really like her use of background lines to frame the exterior and interior of this photo. I also really like the pose of the subject it gives insight to how the subject is engaging with the camera. Her use of light in regards to the trees is very well captured is almost makes the image glimmer. I would have tried to bring out the colors a little bit more to make the subject pop. His pose also very well describes his honor in achieving his greatest accomplishment. I also think she could of edited the photo a little to clean up the details a little better in this picture.

In her third photograph, she could have focused her subject a little more in the center or given the photo a bit more background to the right side to balance out both sides of this angle. She framed her background perfect with the tree but the over all balance is lacking. The subject is also very well engaged in this picture with a picture perfect smile, based on the question Amber asked her, I feel this picture really portrays her passion for what she’s accomplishing.

In her fourth picture, even though only the girl on the left is her subject of question the picture is framed nicely but I would have tried to remove some of the clutter to the left side of the photo to balance the picture a little bit more. I would have also tried to line up the building in the background a bit more or cropped some of it out of the picture to make it look a bit more vertically straight because this distracts the subjects.  I also think that if the male had removed his sunglasses the overall pose of both people would have shown them to be very engaged.

In Amber’s last photo, this one is my favorite the subjects pose gives a sense of humor to the whole picture, I can tell he is very well engaged and confident in this picture I feel like maybe there is a friendship among the subject and the photographer. I really like her use of colors and the shapes of the larger rocks that matches nicely with the sand and line up the entire image vertically and horizontally. This picture is a very good example of the rule of thirds. I also really like the background it makes this picture perfect.
